Ryefield Governance Arrangements

The Governors at Ryefield are committed to working in close partnership with the head teacher, parents, pupils and local community in creating a happy and caring environment for the children at Ryefield.

The GB's main duties are to:

  • Set the strategic direction, policies and objectives of the School
  • Set appropriate targets for pupil achievement at the Key Stages
  • Approve the school's budget and development plans
  • Review progress against the school's budget and objectives
  • Challenge and support the head teacher

Detailed below is information about the governance of both the school and Vyners Learning Trust of which we are a member.

Pam Nash - Chair of Governors

Ryefield Primary School converted to academy status on 1st February 2015 to form a multi-academy trust with Vyners School.  The Trust is named the Vyners Learning Trust.  Whilst both schools retain their individual identities and their own local governing body they now operate as the same legal entity with a single Board of Directors having responsibility for both schools. The role of the local governing body is outlined in the section above.
