Breakfast and After School Club

Ryefield Rascals provides a safe, welcoming and engaging childcare provision for pupils attending Ryefield Primary School. Our experienced staff offer a variety of indoor and outdoor activities in a fun, caring environment, helping children to start and end their school day positively.

Opening Times

Breakfast Club

Doors open at 7:20am & we ask parents and carers to accompany their child to the Rascals gate, where they will be greeted and registered by a member of staff.

Children arriving before 8:00am will be offered a healthy breakfast, including:

• Sugar-free cereals
• Toast
• Milk
• A selection of drinks

At 8:20am, children are escorted safely to their classrooms and handed over to their class teacher.

After School Club

After School Club operates from 3:00pm until 6:00pm, with 2 sessions available- 

• Early 15:00pm - 16:30pm 
• Late 15:00pm - 18:00pm 

Children in Reception to Year 4 will be collected directly from their classrooms by Rascals school staff.
Children in Years 5 and 6 should make their own way to the club, where they will be registered by a member of staff.

If your child attends an extra-curricular club after school, they will be brought to Rascals by the member of staff or adult leading the activity and signed into the register.

Activities

Children enjoy a wide range of supervised activities, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Sports and physical activities
• Structured ICT activities
• Homework support
• Free play

Food

Children booked into the Late After School Session will receive a healthy light snack from 4:30pm, which may include sandwiches, fruit and vegetables.

Please advise the school of any dietary requirements or allergies when registering your child.

Collection, Booking & Payment

Families using Childcare Vouchers or the Government Tax-Free Childcare Scheme should transfer funds to the school's account before making their booking on ParentPay. Once the transfer has been made, please notify the school office by emailing ryefield.enquiries@ryefieldprimary.org.uk.

Children may be collected at any time during their booked session. For safeguarding purposes, every child must be signed out by a member of staff before leaving the provision.

Due to the increasing popularity of Ryefield Rascals, a waiting list is now in operation for After School Club places. To help ensure fair access for all families, we kindly ask that any sessions no longer required are cancelled within 24 hours of the booking.

Please note the following:

Bookings not cancelled within the 24-hour cancellation period will still be charged at the full session fee.
A £5 late cancellation fee will also be applied.
Repeated late cancellations or non-attendance without cancellation may result in a temporary suspension of booking privileges for up to 7 days.

These measures help us maximise availability and ensure as many families as possible can benefit from the club.

Bookings and payments are made through ParentPay.
